Traceability &

Transparency

Transparency in food supply chains is increasingly gaining importance. Consumers are actively looking for guaranteed fair and sustainably produced products with minimal environmental impact. Connectivity between producers and consumers can enhance trust relations. Since some producers live on the other side of the planet, technology can be of great value to strengthen transparent and traceable products through the value chains.

New technologies are rapidly being developed to provide the much required transparency. I provide (business) consulting on direct trade solutions and technological traceability and monitoring solutions. The human aspect of transitioning to a new system is just as important for effective implementation. I work on strengthening social connectivity beween chain actors and nature conservation.

Capacity Building through Landscape Approaches

A balanced relation between humans and the natural environment provides solutions to the major ecological, social and political-economic challenges we are facing. Landscape approaches connect all actors in the chain and emphasizes their interdependence of natural resources. Through a holistic approach we can create resilience of both the natural environment as well as human livelihoods.

In my consultancy projects I use agroforestry, convivial conservation or reforestation solutions in the field, to strengthen community development, nature conservation methods or establish market access (local, regional or international) for sustainable produced food products. Creating diversification on both the production as well as the consumption side.

I also host workshops and educational programmes to connect cultures and raise awareness on the effects of sustainable food supply chains.

Value Chain Analysis

Providing support through trade could be the most effective way to create impact, on both producers’ livelihoods as well as environmental protection. That is if you make the right selection.

Before you start sourcing from a country it is good to know your playing field. Through value chain analysis and selection, especially in emerging and frontier markets, through my broad scope and network, I can provide you with excellent insights to help you to find your best suitable match and make sure attention is being given to CSR issues in your value chain.

Typically this will be done through field visits, analysis of the export market, competitiveness and sustainability. Advice will be given on opportunities, obstacles, and possible intervention areas. If you are a producer I can provide consultancy on market entry requirements, specifically for the European market.

Supply Chain Services

In a direct food chain all its links need to connect and function well. Together with Cross Cultural Bridges I have developed a service design in which we combine our expertise and provide services from a holistic approach for different actors active in food supply chains.
